Saku Mäkinen, PhD, is chaired professor of industrial management, especially strategic technology and innovation management at the Tampere University, Finland. He has previously been with CERN, Geneva (2014-2016), the Columbia University, New York (2011-12), National University of Singapore (2000-2002) and Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales, Sydney (1996). Saku works in the intersection of technology and innovation management (TIM) and strategic management, mostly in close collaboration with industry. His research has appeared in leading international journals including Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Technovation, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Resources, Conservation and Recycling, and Advances in Strategic Management. He serves in editorial roles including Editor-in-Chief, CERN IdeaSquare Journal of Experimental Innovation since 2015 –, Department Editor (Emerging Technologies) IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management 2018 –, Associate editor, IJITM (Int. J. Innovation and Technology Management) since 2011 and Associate Editor, Technological Forecasting & Social Change since 2018.
